Divide Ave. stalled blue car, oh it's the new guy Neil. Hood up, steaming, I stopped, Neil looked at his watch, shook head in despair.  "Push?" I asked? "Where?" I suggested to Erv's Repair by the hotel & gas station on #83. Neil said I hadn't been paid yet, worried.  And worried about his AMC Gremlin. I opened my trunk, put 2 hvy rubber truck tire strips w/homemade wire hooks on my bumper, checked watch, maybe late, let's go.  Pushed w/ old '63 Comet. Big Erv came out, asked "Blown hoses?"  (I'd met Erv, Job Corps Mech. Instr, when J Corps closed) and explained that Neil hadn't been paid yet, etc.  Erv pointed to me, If he's your friend, U have credit." Neil surprised, agreed. I asked Erv if he'd call Neil w/cost & have it ready by 5 PM? "You bet, and you can charge it" I speeded to our parking lot, we raced in by 1PM. Neil quipped, "Wow".  A remembrance, Orv.

(posted 07-07-2015) Friday before last we had a new comer to the meeting, Deb Gross (retired for a year), one of the newer retirees. Deb has agreed to help with the next years get-to-gather.  We did some brain storming and decided that the party should be moved back a month to May 12, 2016.  Seems that summer months, June thru August are so busy with vacations, reunions, weddings, anniversaries, that it may work better to have the retirees meeting earlier or later. We opted to try earlier. It's a year away so if you have any suggestions, please let Mike, Deb or Harry know your feelings.
